The Bible says precious in the sight of the Lord is death of one of his saints. Psalm 116:15
She was a lady who believed in giving gifts to people on birthdays and anniversaries. Oftentimes when visited, she liked to give a present as well.
When I think of her I think of the pearl…
How pearls are made, sand and grit is polished smooth
Bit of sand or food makes inside the shell, covered with Nacre (mother of pearl), layers upon layers are smoothed out to form an iridescent pearl. This in many ways describes her life.
She’s A Pearl as a Mother and Grandmother
“There’s no way to be a perfect mother, but there’s a million ways to be a good one.” Jill Churchhill
Life growing up was sometimes rough
Opened her home to many people
Always talked about grandkids
She’s A Pearl as a Worker
Cleaned homes, did ironing, many other jobs
Bought her house and loved it deeply
Worked hard to keep it up (work camp, widow days, mowing)
She’s a Pearl as a Christian
I was glad when they said to me let us go to the house of the Lord, Psalm 122:1
Was faithful even when it was hard, so happy to be at church
Joy she had studying God’s Word and attending church services
Singing and reading with the grandkids
The Scriptures teach say, “(Abel) though being dead, they still speak” Hebrews 11:4. This dear lady still speaks to us today by the memories we have of her good works. The good things (pearls) she left us are beautiful decorations that we will wear for the rest of our lives.
