Who’s the Person of the Year?

Time Magazine recently had an online competition to selects its man of the year. Some chose a politician who has shaken up the electoral landscape. Some chose athletes who entertain us with their great abilities. Some chose reality stars whose personal lives entertain us by their ignorance and goofiness. I believe we should choose Jesus as man of the year.

Jesus is man of the year because

1) Where he came from – Heaven (John 6:38)

2) Who he is – God’s only son and God in the flesh (John 3:16, 1:1-4, 1:14)

3) What he did – he taught absolute truth (John 8:32), he gave himself in service (John 13:1-5), he gave his life for man (John 10:11), he built his church (Matthew 16:18, Acts 2), he sat down at the right hand of God (Acts 2:33)

4) What he did not do – he never sinned (1 Peter 1:22)

5) Where he went – back to heaven (Acts 1:9)

6) What he does – he intercedes for his own (Romans 8:34). He reigns as Lord or Lords and King of Kings! (Revelation 17:14)

7) What he will do – he’s coming back for the saved! (John 14:1-3)
